Frédéric Margotton is the Cyber Attaché at the High Commission of Canada in Singapore, where he leads Canada's engagement on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies across ASEAN countries. Since joining Global Affairs Canada in 2012, Frédéric has worked in various diplomatic and policy capacities throughout his career.

As Senior Policy Officer in the Crime and Terrorism Policy Division (2020-2024), he contributed to shaping Canada's policies to combat violent extremism. Prior to that, he served as First Secretary at the Canadian Embassies in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, focusing on political and security matters. In these assignments, he helped advance Canada’s strategic interests through negotiations, bilateral engagements, and regional partnerships, collaborating with local governments and international organizations to improve security cooperation and stability. His earlier experience also includes work in trade policy and peace operations, supporting Canada's leadership in international diplomacy.

Frédéric holds an LL.M in International and Transnational Law, an M.A. in International Relations, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Université Laval.

He is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, with advanced proficiency in Italian and Turkish, and notions of Arabic. Frédéric is married with two children.
